Sheela! What do you like to do for fun, or to get the creative juices going lol? I feel like God wants me give my creative side a chance. Crotchet, paint or something, spend more time outside also lol I’m at my worse when I’m stressed with school, family etc

😀 Hello! Well in general, for fun I like to hit balls at the driving range. There’s something about hearing that PING while I’m striking a small hard ball with a metal head that gets my adrenaline going. It’s a great stress reliever. Karaoke, journaling, and even just stretching for 10-15 minutes is great. I also paint and draw portraits as a side hustle. It’s not really fun for me until I start to see the similarities of my work and the picture/photo I’m copying.

I’m glad you’re convicted to explore your creativity. 🙂 Usually I watch other artists working when I’m needing extra motivation. I could hear my voice in the back of my head say, “I could do better.” Lol, God forgive me if I ever start criticizing the artist and not their work, but that’s what I can honestly say have worked for me to get my juices going. I also take fish oils and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid). DHA is actually a component of fish oil that’s good for the brain. The other component of fish oil is EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and it’s good for the heart. I’ve done my own research to conclude that DHA helps with focusing and that’s just some of the benefits. Even people with ADHD could take it and see an improvement. I have been taking it for almost 10 years now and it’s helped with my focus and memory, and also penmanship, motor skills….not that they were terrible before, but just taking it has helped me become ambidextrous. I can write and draw/paint with both hands. 🙂 DHA was actually something I used to tell everybody about and swore by, but I’ve calmed down and I still swear by it but no longer tell everyone I meet lol. It’s not just good for motor skills, and focus, it helps with anxiety too. So anyone reading this, if you have anxiety or experience a lot of stress, DHA could work for you. If that’s something you’re interested in, definitely do your own research. This reply was probably not what you expected, but I’m just letting you know from experience what’s helped me. Painting will definitely release some happy thoughts. You can take a class or if you’d like to save money look up instructors on YouTube. When you have a guide, especially if you’re not already art inclined, you’re more likely to stick with instruction to help you become more creative. Check out Monet Cafe’ with Artist Susan Jenkins. I came across her channel the other day and the first few videos got my juices going. She does like to talk a lot, I get the gist so I like to skip some of it and just look at her work. I’ve never crocheted before but for whatever reason you might be drawn to it, I say go for it. They make great gifts. When you make something for the purpose of giving it to someone, it helps to be more creative. Don’t forget, you’ll also find more passion in whatever you do when you know God is behind your intentions.
