(ANON QUESTION RECEIVED ON GodfirstGodalways)
I don’t hear God anymore.. I feel like it’s not the same when I pray. I pray constantly and bad things still happen. Maybe I don’t hear him because I’m tired of praying when there’s no solution. I don’t know. My relationship with God isn’t the same anymore idk why
You’re not alone. I believe many Christians go through this stage not once but many times throughout their walk. It’s part of Christianity that should be embraced because if not, you’ll never learn to see the beauty of seeing blessings in disguise. I also believe no matter how far God seems at times, it’s our refusal to trust that He’s never left our side. We are our worst critics and we subconsciously dictate what’s forgivable and what’s not. There could be something the LORD is repeatedly putting you through and He is trying to tell you what the main problem is in so many different ways. You’ve got to search in your heart what that is and I believe asking Him in prayer to be revealed what that is is the beginning of where He wants you to start over. It’s a negative quality of yours that He is trying to change. Don’t complain though that He wants you to start over. A Christian’s life is all about renewal. The LORD does not want you to remain the same forever. He doesn’t want you to be stagnant in your walk, so He uses your lack and difficult situations to call You back to Him when even victories have lost their influence on you go back to Him, because He loves you too much. He does this because He wants you to do a reevaluation of your spiritual walk. Don’t compare your past experiences with God to how your relationship with Him is now. You already know it’s not the same as before, so what is it going to help if you dwell on that fact? You have to give up on wishing things were the same. You are in a season of renewal and you just have to trust God that He will be lifting you up above this darkness because the process is never meant for the perfect. Every opportunity begins with lack and difficult times. Embrace that with thanksgiving.
Do you know the song Resurrecting by Elevation Worship?….the words “the resurrected King is resurrecting me” is so powerful. Jesus did not resurrect from perfection….(although His death was perfectly in God’s will, His death was an ugly scene nonetheless), nor was He born in a beautiful palace. Don’t forget that He didn’t have an easy life, everything He did was sacrificial. What are you sacrificing everyday to the Father out of humility (not obligation). Whatever it is, if your words and actions do not support the faith you desire, you will not get the results you’re asking in prayer. Whatever difficult situation you have in a day, are you going straight to God or complaining? YOUR FAITH DEPENDS ON THE INTENTION OF YOUR HEART. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STEPS, EVEN YOUR THOUGHTS ARE IN ALIGNMENT WITH YOUR SACRIFICE. BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN WHETHER YOU ARE AWARE OF THEM OR NOT. IT’S PRACTICING HAVING A GRATEFUL HEART THAT WILL SAVE YOU FROM BEING SO FOCUSED ON THE BAD. JESUS SACRIFICED SO MUCH FOR YOU. RECOGNIZE THAT AS HIM MEETING YOU HALFWAY EVERYDAY. WHAT ARE YOU SACRIFICING TO GAIN THAT UNWAVERING FAITH THAT HE IS GUIDING YOU THROUGH ALL THIS? YOU WILL FIND SOLUTIONS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART. Praying for a strengthened relationship between you and the LORD. <3
Psalm 34:17-18 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
1 Peter 4:12-13 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
