There were a few periods in my life where I too delved in porn and more periods in my life where I struggled with masturbation. NO ONE IS PERFECT. Women/girls struggle with this problem too. Not just guys. The more Christian influence I had in my life, the more aware I was of God’s discernment. Even as a Christian, I dealt with sexual impurity and I know I am not alone. But it seemed the more I sinned and felt shame and guilt, the more I learned to count those feelings as blessings because they were a confirmation to me that I hated my sins, and that’s a good thing. If anyone is a Christian and they do not hate their sin, I doubt they have a daily relationship with Jesus. How can a Christian develop such hatred for their sin if they have not gone through enough of its consequences?

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

THAT PASSAGE APPLIES TO ALL DIFFICULTIES (ADDICTIONS, WHAT HAVE YOU….), NOT JUST PROBLEMS PEOPLE THROW AT YOU, BUT ALSO PROBLEMS THAT YOU CREATE FOR YOURSELF.
Yes, sin is wrong, but to have a transformed mind about it, you must learn to see that your struggles build your character by choosing to learn from them. I believe as a Christian matures, they sin less and less, but they will never come to a point in life where they are completely free of sin. As Christians, we must strive to be free of sin, not through perfection but through progress. And no matter how much you sin, God will always accept you as broken you are.

With every temptation you are dealt with, you will always have the choice to turn away from them or follow through by giving in. The free will that God gives and the choices we make will ultimately always lead us to more free will. He loves us so much to give us free will because without choices, we also cannot learn from lessons. After sinning, will you choose to look at the outcome as something that has made you stronger or will you choose to look at the outcome as something that has made you weaker? If you choose to see it as something that has made you weaker, you will be led to even more free will. Will you decide to you use your weakness to turn to God or if you will decide to use your weakness to turn away from God? And if you choose to see it as something that has made you stronger, you will also be led to more free will. Will you decide to use that strength and go to God thanking Him for your trial or will you use that strength to justify your own wrongdoing? Whichever path you take, you are presented with decisions. Will you make it easier on yourself or make yourself suffer? Even if you choose to suffer because you feel there’s no way out and you might as well keep going that route, God is so loving to make each day new with His mercies. Are you going to choose to believe in His mercies or are you going to disregard His grace too? THE TIME YOU HAVE RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT CAN ADD WISDOM OR TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR POTENTIAL IN YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU REACT TO LIFE INCLUDING YOUR TEMPTATIONS. Ever heard the saying, “10% of life is what happens. 90% of life is how you react to it”? YOU CAN STOP YOUR ADDICTION TO PORN AND MASTURBATION WHEN YOU REALIZE GOD IS GREATER THAN YOUR STRUGGLES. THE KEY IS TO REALIZE IT OFTEN ENOUGH. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY TO REALIZE THAT GOD IS THAT AWESOME, GREAT, MIGHTY, AND POWERFUL? THE MORE YOU CHOOSE GOD WITH YOUR THOUGHTS AS WELL AS YOUR ACTIONS THE MORE YOU PRACTICE DISCIPLINE AND THE EASIER YOU WILL OVERCOME YOUR TEMPTATIONS BECAUSE GOD’S DISCERNMENT AND YOUR OBEDIENCE BECOMES YOUR JOY AND PLEASURE.

Your tendencies to lean towards anything begins with how much you entertain thoughts that support whatever that thing is. Being a Christian is all about fighting the good fight with God’s promises from the Bible. Faith comes from hearing the Word, so are you reading your Bible or listening to Christian messages that feed your soul, or are you feeding your sexual desires more by entertaining thoughts that sooner or later present themselves as temptations? If you haven’t given your life over to Christ yet, I will be praying for your salvation. If you are already a Christian and this is a battle for you, just remember that no matter how big your battle is, if your heart is truly after the heart of God, He will reward your faith, just be consistent because He is working it out on your behalf. Pray for eyes to see your progress, so you can count more blessings than disappointments, and pray for your appetite for God to be greater than your appetite for porn and masturbation. If you are really serious about kicking this habit out of your life you would pray right this minute. You’re in my prayers tonight friend. <3

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

James 4:17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Mark 8:34

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

2 Corinthians 5:13-6:2 If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says,“In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
