(ANON QUESTION RECEIVED FROM GodfirstGodalways)
I have been a Christian for a long time, I grew up in a Christian house hold. However, when I got to college I began to act out and became very deep into sexual sin. I rose out of it and asked God for forgiveness and truly changed my life around. I began to date a boy and he knows my past and it seems to hang over him like a dark cloud. How can we move past this in our relationship and him forgive me like Jesus did? What do I do?
Praise the Lord, you’ve come back to Him. 🙂 The only reason why I don’t see him forgiving you is because he’s an unbeliever/not Christian. So my question is, is he or is he not? Because if he is walking with the Lord, then this would not worry him. Do you pray for each other or go to church together? You have to make sure you are both on the same page spiritually or this could be a really ugly problem. It sounds like you are more mature than he is in faith. So if I were you I would keep praying for God to use me as a vessel, I would desire to be a better example of a Christian. Words are powerful but our actions speak louder, and if your actions are enough to convict him to forgive you then to God be the glory! Be patient with him as God was and still is patient with you. Focus on his good qualities and pray for him often, every day, seek to love him genuinely and with faith, you should be confident he will be convicted. Just do the best you can as a Christian, seek to please Him above all else. The Lord sees all your efforts. I’m praying for you and your relationship, that in all you say and do, your boyfriend is drawn to love Christ more. God bless!
