Yes I have. But sooner or later I bring it up to the Lord in prayer. Either the person was off or sometimes I was probably the one who was off. Then sooner or later, I have peace that I’ve done what I could do and I move on. Whoever was off, the time was awkward but I don’t let that time define my future. I believe we have in some degree experienced that at least once in life. There are so many different personalities, traits, characteristics. Each person is so different and unique, but the beauty in all the differences is we can also find similarities in one another. I believe the most important similarity you can ever have with another person is the sharing of the same faith, where God is the foundation. Because no matter how awkward friendships can be, no matter how off a person can be, there is a way through faith where love can be the bridge. And whether or not two people remain friends forever, having faith means God was and is in control. By always believing that no matter who you encounter wherever you go, if you continually nourish your faith by nourishing the life of Christ in you, what’s in the past is in the past, therefore your focus is on the Lord, who is always your guide and shaper/molder of your character. Where someone ends up a day from now, a week from now, a month, a year…all depends on how they interact with people. We’re always presented with relationships. The way we conduct ourselves around other people will affect and touch one person after the next. If you have an odd relationship with somebody bring that up to God, bring up the situation to Him. Maybe the person is putting up a wall for a reason, they could be going through some tough times, just pray for them. No one knows our oddities more than He does. We are off sometimes towards others too because we also experience tough situations we keep to ourselves. If you don’t know what to do about this friendship, ask Him to search your heart to see what in there you can offer this person, ask what you can do, and ask for His guidance on how to communicate and approach this person. How well do you know this person? Could you get to know them even better? Sometimes our judgements can be so wrong. The more you talk/pray to The Lord, the more you will shine in this person’s life. Whatever is off about them is obviously bothering you, so talk a lot about it with Him. There’s certain things He puts to our attention and He simply wants us to begin with prayer, because sometimes that’s really all we can do. Whether it bothers us or gladdens us, we have to go back to God.
