I can justify this as much as my brain would allow me to, but no matter how much I try, I will always come across a conviction that it is not well with my soul. If anyone has a mustard seed of conviction that this is wrong yet continue to live in such a way, then they have compromised with sin. Anytime a person faces temptation there is a possibility they could sin. We’re all faced with temptations. It’s when we give in to them that we have committed a sin. A Christian understands this or should understand this more than someone who is not a believer. The stronger the person is called to do the will of God, the more obvious and clear temptations as well as sins become. It doesn’t mean they will be presented with more temptations, rather temptations will be more clearly revealed to them. The same with sin.
For anyone curious if premarital sex is still a sin wether they are in their teens, in their 20s, or 30s… living on their own terms, then they should question themselves if they are truly Christian. It’s only God who can successfully reveal to a person if they have been blameless or not because He does not condemn. A daily conversation with Him through prayer is crucial if they want to turn away from their sins. Repent. I believe being a Christian means there is a responsibility to obey God and the convictions that come from Him. If they are not conscious of these convictions, it only means they are young in faith and need to get rooted in the Word more often, spending more time getting to know Christ. It’s easy to say “I am a Christian” simply because I believe in God, but it’s ultimately His call wether or not I truly am Christian simply by how I live.
Ask yourself, “Are my conversations with/prayers to God leading me to a life of peace, joy, and righteousness, or am I stuck in a cycle living with grief and drudgery? Could my disobedience be the reason why I am not experiencing God’s best for me? Does He agree with what I believe about myself that I am blameless? I should be confident of His answer so long as I remain humble and surrendered on a day to day basis.” The moment anyone justifies their sinful nature instead of confessing they were wrong in prayer, they are compromising with Satan. No one should lower their standards when God designed better for them. If anyone you know welcomes this sin in their life, you must pray for that person especially if you care a lot about them and ask God to guide you in what you should do/say. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to intrude, but just be willing to show genuine love and share your faith when God reveals the right time. Thank you for this. <3
James 1:13-18 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all He created.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
