DETOX. There’s no better way. You gotta get that water weight off first, then you’ll see exactly how much fat you’re dealing with. Makes sense right? Most dietitians and nutritionists suggest detoxifying the body before embarking on any new diet for many reasons. Doing detox allows the diet to work even better, balancing pH levels could fix any indigestion problems, and among many others, I would just like to add that you would probably be more successful losing fat by tackling water retention first. I believe you’d likely be more optimistic about your progress if you acknowledge that feeling of being bloated is caused by factors such as overconsumption of simple carbs.
DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEAT PARTICULARLY WHITE BREAD BLOCKS THE ABSORPTION OF NUTRIENTS….NUTRIENTS THAT COULD AID IN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS? I’ve never been diagnosed with gluten intolerance, but my body is just so good at telling me how bad it is for me. See if you can give up grains and wheat for at least a week, and in that same week I dare you to go VEGAN. For one week. Just one. While you’re at it, try this simple DETOX. See what wonders it could do for you. I lost 4 pounds in the first week alone. I believe it’s mostly water and maybe some old junk in the trunk. 🙂 But look at my rolls that have melted away! Watch my video on why cleansing the body is so important (esp. if you’re a woman).
Look at that before and after! The first row of pictures was taken January 1st, 2018 and right below was exactly seven days later, January 7th, 2018. Can someone give me a pat on my back fat? I didn’t start out overly overweight, but I’m glad I got rid of as much as I could. But guess what?! I actually did it without breaking a sweat! I didn’t exercise. Here’s what I drank once, every day for an entire week. Enough said.
GREEN SMOOTHIE DETOX – (raw vegan, non GMO, gluten-free, soy-free)
- handful of spinach or kale
- a bunch of cilantro (about 10 to 15)
- 1/3 – 1/4 cucumber (large) or 2-3 Persian cucumbers (small)
- 1/2 or whole lemon (juice), 1/2 for less tang
- 1 stalk celery
- 1/2 slice ginger
- 1 tbs ground flaxseed (what I use)/chia seed blend (what I use)
- 8 oz water
- stevia (optional, preference)
- ice (optional)
- 1 tbs psyllium husk (optional, what I’ve used in the past)
- 1 serving of aloe vera juice (optional, what I’ve used in the past)
- Pour all ingredients into a blender and set to smoothie (what I use)

NOTE: I usually put 2 tbs of stevia but I’ll be switching to erythritol sometime soon. I like to put ice cubes after blending, right before I’m ready to drink it. The heavier you are, the more weight you should expect to lose within that first week alone.
The blender I use most of the time is Blendtec. Thank the Lord for parents! I have been so blessed with blenders. I’ve never once bought one for myself. I always seem to attract them into my life as presents. But if I had done more research on blenders before they made the purchase, I would have convinced them to get the Vitamix instead. This is the best if you’re the type who can’t stand bits and grits in your smoothie. I remember when my parents got the Jack Lalanne Juicer. I’m absolutely sure my transition to vegetarianism influenced them to buy it. I lasted 15 years on that diet and loved that machine, but it’s been living in the garage for the past 8 years now. Juicing’s not good enough. If you’re your own health advocate you should know. The good stuff is in skin! If you don’t enjoy grainy bits in your super greens smoothie, or you don’t have the best quality blender in the world, don’t make that a reason to miss out on fiber! Here’s something you can do about it.
STEP 1: Use a strainer.
STEP 2: Dump all that nutrient-dense goodness down the drain or feed it to your plants as fertilizer. 🙂
STEP 3: Pour a serving of Benefiber back into the detox! Now you’ve got yourself a healthy drink that’s actually a smoothie. 😉
I am currently 105 pounds. My goal weight is 100. I think it’s perfect for my height. I’m 5 feet by the way, if you were curious, and I would also like to gain 5 pounds of some nice, firm muscle, particularly on my butt. I don’t know why my sister and I didn’t inherit our mother’s naturally, chunky heinie while our younger brother did. I guess I better do a bajillion squats than I often pray for a dream body.
