Nice to meet you!

If you have been following me on my other blog, God first God always, or any of my 3 channels on YouTube, THANK YOU and THANK YOU!!! Though I’ve been absent here for quite a some time, I am back for good, and will continue to revamp this site. I am currently a caregiver and dog walker with many other odd jobs, trying my best to balance all this, and still find time to upload videos. Because of my interest in just about everything that puts a smile on my face, I’ve been a total late bloomer choosing what career path to take. But realizing who I am more and more in Christ has helped me use this awesome thing called the internet, and so I strive to utilize it the best I can. Slowly but surely I am finding my flow in all of today’s social media. If it’s not obvious enough, this site is first and foremost dedicated to God. Do stick around as I manage to share my passions with you!

If you’re simply visiting to see what I’m up to, I appreciate it. πŸ™‚ That tells me you want to get to know me better. I started this blog as a journal because I wanted to be honest with myself and more importantly with God. I am not perfect, but the truth is when I strive to live out His truth, I live with more peace and feel more whole as a person. He is consistently telling me to live more transparently, so I thought a niche that’s dedicated to following Christ as a lifestyle would help me be more bold about my walk with Him. I highly value my relationship with the LORD over religion and this has tremendously helped me gain the confidence to balance life and control my mental and emotional struggles. If you’re curious about what makes me so passionate, then you might want to read Forgive as You have been Forgiven (my testimony) and Why Health (another testimony).

This blog has become my ministry. Out of my struggles, I’ve discovered my spiritual growth comes from helping others transform their minds. I believe that there are many Christians not living to their potential and others who are searching for answers or wanting to get closer to God in hopes of getting to know themselves better. I also believe many of those I’m talking about turn to the internet, maybe because they have not found it easy to fellowship in church. They might hesitate opening up about their life experiences or faith in general. If that’s you, I know where you’re coming from. For me, this space is a reminder to put all judgements aside and welcome anyone who might be hurting, in need of spiritual enlightenment, seeking to understand God more, willing to share their philosophy, or just anyone filled with joy, praises, and even prayer requests. In here you will find words that encourage, uplift, inspire, and motivate. This blog is based on Biblical/Christian wisdom that I try to tie in with my past and present experiences as well as talents, skills, and abilities He’s gifted me, all while I strive to be as fit and healthy as I can be. The goal of this site is to point others to Christ. Whatever circumstance you may be in, my hope is that you come back with more zeal and passion for life. I am still learning a lot, but if you have any input regarding anything I publish, please don’t hold back. I hope everything you digest here will be good for your heart, mind, and soul. Scroll down to read my testimony and more. GOD BLESS YOU! πŸ™‚ (Last updated 10/11/18)

What Is It You Want?

I spent the first eight years of my life in quite a corrupt, yet humble country. But we had joy in our hearts. My mom, my older sister, and I lived a simple life in little Philippines. I almost died several times there. Well, I exaggerate. I almost completely sliced a big toe after running around in our backyard full of metal scraps. I think it was my mom who almost died. I endured many other bloody accidents…

Why Health (my 2nd testimony)

Home Improvement was one of my favorite TV shows in the 90s. The middle kid, Randy, was my biggest crush. All throughout high school, I idolized him. When I discovered he was a vegetarian in real life, I thought β€œWell that’s it! That’s what makes him stand out!” I easily justified his good looks, wit, and smarts to his diet. I admired him and so I wanted to be just like him, or at least be cool like him. I was 9 years old…

My Testimony (published on 2013)

Five years ago, I left my family. A year after moving out of Los Angeles, I just had enough of Las Vegas. It wasn’t because of the partying as I could hardly even leave the house. It wasn’t because of all the worldliness anyone could associate with living in such a city. I was trying to figure out this whole Christian thing. I was struggling because I had a father who just could not comprehend my desire for…

  4. I want to thank you for following β€œA Way With Words.” My joy in writing is made more complete when people read what I’ve written (and even more so as they respond).

I write mainly about faith and mental illness, but am known to dabble in other subjects, stories, and even the occasional poem. If you have any requests, please let me know.

I appreciate what you have going on here, particularly your faith perspective. I pray you are blessed in your life and writing, as you bless others.

    1. Hi Lori. πŸ˜€ It’s totally cool. Keeping up with WordPress can get pretty tough just like all other social networks…thanks for the follow back as well. God bless!

    1. Hello! Thank you for the follow back as well. I enjoyed reading your posts about your mission trips to the Philippines. I will return and will be reading more! Blessings!

  9. I do love how you express yourself through your writings. It is a great gift to have, to share the Love of the Lord with others. Thank you for dropping by Sheela. May the Lord continue to use you to inspire others. God Bless You!

    1. Hi Ann! πŸ™‚ I’m never going to forget who first responded to one of the first couple of comments I’ve made here on WordPress. You are an angel to me. I’ve been encouraged by your posts and I’m glad we still support each other by the simple click of a button. I know you’re just doing what wonderful friends do here for each other through nominations, but I’m going to stick to the promise I made with God, and I know that you will understand. Being nominated feels like I received the award, and it’s enough for me know that you care. πŸ™‚ God bless your day! God bless your heart and soul! *hugs* πŸ˜‰ <3 Sheela

    1. And thanks for the follow back! I haven’t touched my Facebook in years. :/ Buuut, I’ll be stopping by your blog every now and then. God bless you both! πŸ˜€

  10. I have nominated you for a Liebster Award. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to read the nomination post (below) and share the love. I can not promise that your participation will grant you good health or outrageous wealth (I’m not Joel Osteen, nor do I play him in the blogosphere). I will say, for me, it has been a pretty cool way to connect with other bloggers. And, since I’ve been accepting awards, no unsightly warts have appeared on my body.

Congratulations. And keep up the good work.

Now, if you are so led, you may go here β€”

    1. Haha! Nice to meet you Oluwaseun! Thanks for stopping by. I am not scared that you are Nigerian…not one bit. I am happy though that now I have met a new Christian friend all the way from Nigeria! πŸ™‚ Thank you for your kindness and for being bold about your relationship status with your future and blessed wife-to-be. I appreciate that! We shall definitely be friends! God bless! Shallom! πŸ™‚

  17. it’s a real blessing to have a faith like yours, but as in everything worth having, it’s best not to overdo it. it’s like a bird in your hand. hold on it too tight and you’ll smother it. hold on it too loose and it will fly away. easy does it.

  18. But anyone can deprive you of the last of human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
    Nice to meet you!

    1. Yes, I guess it was imagined more than anything, but I didn’t know myself enough then. I didn’t know my potential to change my circumstances. What’s good is I’ve got real relationships now and I feel no one is holding me back. Thanks! Nice to meet you too. πŸ™‚
